Birthday Black Dress

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my husband and best friend took me out to dinner so I needed something fun to wear. I found a simple black dress at Target and accessorized it with some costume jewelry. The belt is from the 1960's and was passed down to me from my Great Aunt. I love wearing it whenever I get the chance! I found my bracelet at one of the best vintage stores in Nashville. Holiday Green

After a two month break I'm back and excited to start posting again! Since we're so close to Christmas I thought I'd do a holiday shoot. It's been pretty mild here in Nashville so I've been layering a lot. My husband and I attended multiple Christmas parties last week and this is one of the outfits I wore. I put the vest on at night when it got chilly and added a black clutch and leopard print heels to make it feel a little more fancy. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! More posts coming soon.

Teal, Purple & Animal Print

We had an absolutely beautiful weekend here in Nashville so it was fun to get out and do a shoot. The temperatures have cooled down a bit so it's necessary to always have a cardigan with me, yes I get cold easily. :) I'm loving animal print right now and I think it transitions well into fall. My favorite piece about this outfit though is the purse. I spotted this at one of my favorite stores here in Nashville at Old Made Good . If you haven't been to this store please go. They have lots of fun vintage clothes, shoes, jewelry hand made by one of the shop owners and amazing furniture that the ladies re-purpose and sell at very reasonable prices.What are your favorite pieces for fall? Black Fringe

This dress is so much fun to wear! I found it at one my favorite boutique stores in Nashville, Muse. It's been a great date night dress that I've worn to the Symphony and out on the town. The feather hairpiece was a gift from my husband and it was made by our friend Merry Beth who owns Hardwear Merry. Check out her website to see more of her fabulous custom made jewelry.

Sailor Style Checkers

A couple of weeks ago I met my girlfriends out for brunch at Tavern in Nashville. If you haven't been you must go. They have two for one drinks and they're food is some of the best in town. It's been pretty hot here, well into the 100's so I decided to break out my shorts. I love the little detailing of the anchors on the buttons. My necklace was my Great Aunts and was given to me by my mom when she passed. The delicate chain and single pearl is simple enough to work well with a busy pattern. I love this top right now, I was lucky to score this on sale at Banana Republic and it's quickly becoming a favorite!

Lunch Date:Floral Green

It's floral week here on the blog and I'm wearing one of my favorite skirts for summer. I wore this over the weekend to catch up with my best friend at our neighborhood pub. It's super comfy and I paired with it some fun heels to dress it up just a bit. Actually, these were my wedding shoes! :)

Date Night: Floral Print

When I saw this shirt I thought it was a bit flowery for me but I decided to try it on and ended up really liking it! I paired it with a simple black skirt, (a closet staple for me) cute ballet flats and simple accessories. If I'm wearing a bold pattern I tend to stick with plain earrings and maybe a bracelet. Military Green

I love this dress, I've had it for years and it just seems to stay in style. To me, military is a classic look that will  never go away. This dress took me from work during the day to a night out with friends at a local vineyard all the while staying cool (it's been in the 100's in Nashville!) and chic. Thank you to my mom for the ring, she wore it when she was in high school :)

The Poison Ivy Dress

Why is this the Poison Ivy Dress you ask, well, I seem to be dealing with a severe bout of the nasty stuff and this dress has gotten me through the past 2 weeks. It's super comfy and looks stylish at the same time! I actually bought this on a whim at Target. I was desperately looking for something that wouldn't cling to my skin and I've been wanting to try a maxi dress anyways so this was the perfect fit. White Weekend Dress

Summer is here and I'm so happy, it really is my favorite! I get to wear sun dresses on the weekend and lots of cute skirts and tops. This is my go to dress for the summer, it's comfortable and easy to dress up or down. I paired sandals with it in this post but if you wanted to dress it up, add some some heels and a sparkley gold piece of jewelry and you're ready to hit the town!
