Birthday Black Dress

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my husband and best friend took me out to dinner so I needed something fun to wear. I found a simple black dress at Target and accessorized it with some costume jewelry. The belt is from the 1960's and was passed down to me from my Great Aunt. I love wearing it whenever I get the chance! I found my bracelet at one of the best vintage stores in Nashville. If you're over in East Nashville near Five Points make sure to stop by Hip Zipper. Be sure to check out their Facebook page too, they're always posting pictures of their latest finds! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Dress: Target
Belt: Vintage 1960's
Bracelet: Vintage 1950's from Hip Zipper

Date Night: Floral Print

When I saw this shirt I thought it was a bit flowery for me but I decided to try it on and ended up really liking it! I paired it with a simple black skirt, (a closet staple for me) cute ballet flats and simple accessories. If I'm wearing a bold pattern I tend to stick with plain earrings and maybe a bracelet. If I wear anything else it usually gets too busy. A black clutch completes the look and I'm ready for date night with my husband! :) What's your favorite accessory, skirt or top for date night? The Poison Ivy Dress

Why is this the Poison Ivy Dress you ask, well, I seem to be dealing with a severe bout of the nasty stuff and this dress has gotten me through the past 2 weeks. It's super comfy and looks stylish at the same time! I actually bought this on a whim at Target. I was desperately looking for something that wouldn't cling to my skin and I've been wanting to try a maxi dress anyways so this was the perfect fit. A big thank you to wonderful husband for taking the pictures, you can find more of his work over at Hartz Photographic.
